Industry-Standard Facilities
At UTC, students learn in industry-standard facilities designed to reflect the environments they will encounter in healthcare, sport and the digital industries. Our specialist spaces enable students to apply their learning in practical settings, develop technical expertise and gain hands-on experience with professional equipment from day one.
Through access to cutting-edge technology and specialist learning environments, students develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed for their next destination, whether that’s a degree apprenticeship, university or employment.
Specialist facilities include:
- An activity studio equipped with a range of specialist sport and fitness equipment
- A Health and Development Suite featuring a flexible ward set-up, child development area and space for an operational ambulance
- A Sport Sciences Laboratory for analysing performance, movement and physical development
- A professional-standard 3G pitch and access to a 100m running track
- A dedicated fitness suite
- A Security Operations Centre where students can experience real-life cyber security monitoring and digital threat management
- Virtual reality technology, Raspberry Pi devices and industry-relevant computing equipment
- A robotics and electronics lab for practical computing and technology projects
Learning Through Experience
Our facilities are more than specialist spaces. They provide the setting for employer-led projects, practical learning and real-world experiences that bring learning to life. Whether assessing sports performance, exploring healthcare environments or developing digital solutions, students gain valuable experience and develop the skills, behaviours and professional confidence needed to succeed in their chosen field.
