Ofsted
November 2024 Inspection
We were last inspected by Ofsted in November 2024 achieving Good in all areas. Key points from the report were:
- High aspirations and support:“Pupils enjoy attending this popular university technical college (UTC). Pupils specialise in health sciences and social care, computing or sport science. They develop strong aspirations for the future. The UTC supports pupils well to move on to their ambitious next steps.”
- Strong curriculum:“The well-organised curriculum helps pupils to develop their knowledge over time. Pupils revisit what they have previously learned. This helps pupils to consolidate their learning.”
- Real-world experiences:“Pupils benefit from experiences that develop their understanding of life beyond the UTC. Year 10 pupils work with Sheffield Hallam University on a cancer research project. This is to help inform a new cancer strategy in the region.”

Parent View
Parent View is an online questionnaire run by Ofsted, the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services, which asks for your opinion on 12 aspects of your child’s school, from the quality of teaching, to dealing with bullying and poor behaviour. Ofsted uses the information you provide when making decisions about which schools to inspect, and when.
By sharing your views, you will be helping your child’s school to improve. You will also be able to see what other parents have said about your child’s school.
