Sally, Sport Science

Sixteen-year-old Sport Science student Sally is celebrating a successful set of GCSE results.

She said: “I’m really happy with my results. I’m really happy I’ve passed maths, I’ve struggled with it in the past and UTC have been amazing offering me extra help.”

Sally sat a total of 7 GCSEs, alongside her technical qualification, which is equivalent to 2 GCSEs, achieving a merit.

She originally joined UTC after learning about the unique offer and the range of opportunities it opened up to work with employers and learn in a practical setting.

She said: “I chose UTC because I felt like I needed extra support and needed to be in a tight community. The UTC offered more opportunities and has opened doors in sport for me. It has allowed me to do something I enjoy at the same time as learning.”

Sally is now looking forward to continuing her studies at UTC and will be studying Health Sciences alongside A Levels in English Literature and Biology. She hopes to pursue a career in teaching.
